New Day Blessing Songs
Gratitude is an important part of the New Day Curriculum. We try to remember the interconnection of all things and to ourselves and give thanks to many gifts we experience each day. Songs of gratitude and of thanksgiving are sung by the children and teachers before each meal. We end each blessing with “Namaskar, I love light in you!” or “Blessings on our food, may all be fed.”
“Baba Nam Kevalam” is a sanskrit mantra. The spirit of the mantra is “Everything is the embodiment of the Divine” or simply “Love is all there is”
There are many blessings that the classrooms use throughout the year. We share a few blessings recorded by Didi Jayagiita: For the Golden Corn (traditional) & Plain or Fancy (traditional) and Mother Earth, Father Sun.
